師在靈隱鷲峯塔，杜絕世諦，衲子請益，遂立三問示之，各令著語。

While residing at Jiufeng Pagoda on Lingyin, the master cut off worldly conventions. Patch-robed monks requested instruction, so he set forth three questions to instruct them, ordering each to add a capping phrase.
