上堂：「丁寧損君德，無言真有功，任從滄海變，終不為君通。好笑好笑，得恁麼入泥入水。南山口似磉盤，諸人也須薦取。」

Ascending the hall: "Earnest advice diminishes your virtue; wordlessness truly has merit. Though you let the blue sea change, to the end I will not make a way through for you. Laughable, laughable—to enter the mud and water like this! The mouth of Nanshan is like a pillar base; all of you must also recognize it."
