9.25

上堂：「朝鐘暮鼓，晨粥午齋，一一見聞覺知，謾他一星子不得。及問他歸宗斬蛇，大隨蓋龜，便去不得。且道，障礙在什麼處？忽有眾中衣鉢道友本色衲僧，出來露箇消息、供養大眾，也好箇時節。」

He ascended the hall: "Morning bell and evening drum, morning gruel and noon feast—in each and every seeing, hearing, perceiving, and knowing, you cannot deceive him in the slightest. But when you ask him about Guizong cutting the snake or Dasui sheltering the turtle, he cannot go forward. Tell me, where is the obstacle? If there were a robe-and-bowl companion of the Way among the assembly, a genuine patch-robed monk, who came forward to reveal a message and make an offering to the great assembly, that would also be a fine occasion."
