次日上堂：「鵝護雪、臘人氷，諸方恐有之。我者裏毀於佛，謗於法，不入眾數，尚且救不得一半，何況九十日內，如守古塚鬼，作麼生得證入去？」擊拂子：「修心煉行，三世佛冤。」

The next day he ascended the hall: "Geese protecting snow, the La month freezing into ice—perhaps other quarters have this. Here, we slander the Buddha and revile the Dharma, not entering into the tally of the assembly; yet even half cannot be saved. How much less, during the ninety days, like ghosts guarding an ancient tomb—how could they attain realization and entry?" Striking with his whisk, [he said]: "Cultivating the mind and refining practice is an injustice to the Buddhas of the three periods."
