9.98

師乃云：「山鳴谷應，風起水涌，此皆時節因緣，非一毫而莫取，伐木丁丁於峯頂，僧牒遠降於中天，戴德日新，際遇特異，崇堂從茲易舉，皇恩難以報稱，誓勤禪誦，仰答鴻休，凡所見聞，悉皆妙證。」

The Master then said: "Mountains roar and valleys echo, wind rises and waters surge. These are all circumstances of the season, not a single hair can be arbitrarily taken. Timber is felled rhythmically atop the peaks; monk certificates arrive from the imperial court. Carrying gratitude renewed day by day, this encounter is extraordinary. The lofty halls can easily be erected from now on; imperial favor is hard to recompense. We vow to diligently practice Chan and recite scriptures, looking up to answer the immense blessing. May all that is seen and heard be marvelous realization."
