Ascending the hall: "Breaking up the family and scattering the household, destroying the patriarchs and annihilating the lineage, not hanging a single thread, uniquely transcending beyond appearances. Such a person only understands the phrase that joins hands, but has not yet possessed the eye that penetrates the barrier. If you can wash your face and touch your nose, or sip tea and wet your lips, I will acknowledge you as half a patch-robed monk, but you are not yet permitted to fully spread your bowl and eat."
