Tracing his lineage to Linji, taking Yun'an as his teacher, his renown penetrates thoroughly; declining Guangjue, dwelling at Xingsheng, his taking and leaving are distinctly clear. He is fully able to muster our host, bearing no shame before patch-robed monks. We respectfully reflect that the newly appointed upādhyāya Xutang has attained the true reality and manifested the pure body. Rather than idling in the mist-hidden North and South Mountains, how could it compare to roaring aloud like thunder in Eastern and Western Zhe? Moreover, this dragon palace indeed stands upon the rainbow shore. The Grand Chancellor personally questioned me, and our worthy prefect does not grant this lightly to anyone. Come quickly! Come quickly! Rare indeed! Rare indeed! Lüqiu stepped forward and bowed; how could Fenggan be a gossip? Huangmei made the effort to come down the mountain to speak the gāthā of 'No Mind' on behalf of Mazu.
