Ascending the hall on New Year's Day: "Every year is a good year, every day is a good day. Why then is there new and old? If you can speak a phrase that stands apart, I permit you to stand on one foot atop the Iron Wheel Mountain and count grains of sand at the bottom of the great ocean. If not, 'Wildfire cannot burn it away; the spring breeze blows and it comes to life again.'"
