8.14

Ascending the hall on the Dragon Boat Festival, a monk asked, "Mañjuśrī commanded Sudhana to gather medicine, and Sudhana said, 'There is nothing that is not medicine.' What is the meaning of this?" The master said, "Drawing out the wind-fallen lotus." The monk said, "Sudhana picked a blade of grass and handed it to Mañjuśrī; Mañjuśrī said, 'This medicine can kill people, and it can also bring people to life.' How about that?" The master said, "One person transmits a falsehood, and ten thousand transmit it as fact." The monk said, "This student is completely diseased; how can he be healed?" The master said, "Even the Buddha's hand cannot heal you."
