師於六月初三日退院。辭眾上堂云。衲僧去就水雲姿。偶墮夤緣出應時。今日又歸林壑去。得便宜了得便宜。諸禪德。且作麼生是得便宜處。良久云。此去常專自己事。者回不為別人憂。

On the third day of the sixth month, the master retired from the abbacy. Taking leave of the assembly, he ascended the hall and said: "The coming and going of a patch-robed monk is like water and clouds; / accidentally falling into conditions, I came forth to respond to the time. / Today, returning once more to the forests and valleys, / I have gotten an advantage, oh, gotten an advantage! Chan worthies, just what is the place of getting an advantage?" After a good while, he said: "From now on, I will always concentrate on my own affair; / this time I will not worry on behalf of others."
