上堂云。六戶不掩。從教萬法通同。四衢無蹤。祇麼一塵不受。所以道眼見色與盲等。耳聞聲與響等。便能聲色裡睡眠。聲色裡坐臥。還體悉得麼。周遍十方心。不在一切處。

Ascending the hall, [the Master] said: "The six portals are not closed, allowing all myriad dharmas to interpenetrate. On the four crossways there are no tracks, merely not admitting a single dust mote. Therefore it is said: seeing form with the eye is equal to blindness; hearing sound with the ear is equal to an echo. Then one can sleep amid sound and form, and sit and recline amid sound and form. Do you comprehend? The mind that pervades the ten directions is not in any place at all."
