上堂云。不墮虛凝體前運步。不迷照用。鬧裡分身。可謂。獨立而不改。周行而不殆。還會麼。機絲不掛梭頭事。文彩縱橫意自殊。

Ascending the hall, he said: "Not falling into empty congealment, moving steps before the substance; not confused by illumination and function, dividing the body amidst the bustle. It may be called: standing alone without altering, moving all around without tiring. Do you understand? The threads on the loom are not hung up on the shuttle's tip; the rich patterns crisscross, their meaning naturally distinctive."
