岸眉橫雪。河目含秋。海口鼓浪。航舌駕流。撥亂之手。
太平之籌。老趙州老趙州。攪攪叢林卒未休。
徒費工夫也造車合轍。本無伎倆也塞壑填溝。

Shore-like brows horizontal with snow; / River-like eyes containing autumn; / An ocean mouth stirring up waves; / A boat tongue navigating the flow. / A hand that sets disorder right, / A tally of great peace. / Old Zhaozhou! Old Zhaozhou! / Stirring up the monastic groves, he does not rest in the end. / Spending effort in vain to fit wheels to the axle; / Originally possessing no contrivance, yet filling gullies and plugging ravines.
