舉僧問乾峯。十方薄伽梵。一路涅槃門。未審。路頭在什麼處。峯以拄杖一畫云。在這裡。僧舉問雲門。門云。扇子踣跳上三十三天。築著帝釋鼻孔。東海鯉魚打一棒。雨似盆傾。會麼會麼。頌曰。

A monk asked Qianfeng: "The Bhagavans of the ten directions have one path to the gate of nirvāṇa. Where does the head of that path lie?" / Qianfeng drew a line with his staff and said: "Right here." / The monk brought this to Yunmen and asked him. Yunmen said: "The fan somersaults up to the thirty-three heavens and bumps into Śakra's nostril; striking a blow to the carp of the Eastern Sea, rain pours down like basins emptying. Do you understand? Do you understand?" / The verse says:
