舉睦州問武陵長老。了即毛端吞巨海。始知大地一微塵。作麼生。陵云。和尚問誰。州云問長老。陵云。何不領話。州云。我不領話。爾不領話。師云。睦州武陵。總道不領話。其間。有貪觀白浪失却手橈。乃竪起拂子云。看。

He cited: Muzhou asked Elder Wuling: “When fully realized, the tip of a hair swallows the great ocean; only then does one know the great earth is a single speck of dust. What about it?” Ling said: “Whom is the Venerable asking?” Zhou said: “I am asking the elder.” Ling said: “Why don't you grasp the words?” Zhou said: “I don't grasp the words; you don't grasp the words.” / The Master said: “Both Muzhou and Wuling said they didn't grasp the words. In between, there was someone greedy to watch the white waves who lost hold of his oar.” Then he raised his whisk and said: “Look!”
