曠遠無畛。清淨發光。其靈而無所礙。其明而無所照。可謂虛而自明。其明自淨。超因緣離能所。其妙而存。其照也廓。又不可以有無言象擬議也。却於箇裏樞機旋關捩括。隨應不勤大用無滯。在一切處。輥輥地不隨緣不墮類。向其間放得穩。在彼同彼。在此同此。彼此混然無分辨處。所以道。似地擎山不知山之孤峻。如石含玉不知玉之無瑕。若能如是。是真出家。出家輩。是須恁麼體取。

Broad and vast, it is without boundary; pure and clean, it radiates light. Being spiritual, it is without obstruction; being bright, it is without an object of illumination. It can be called empty and naturally bright; its brightness is naturally pure. Transcending causes and conditions, leaving behind subject and object, its wonder abides and its illumination is vast. Moreover, it cannot be deliberated upon through words or images of being and non-being. Yet right within this, the pivot turns and the latch releases; responding as needed without exertion, the great functioning is unobstructed. In all places, rolling along smoothly, it does not follow conditions nor fall into categories. Securely settled within, when there, it is identical with that; when here, it is identical with this. That and this blend together without any place of distinction. Therefore it is said: 'Like the earth bearing the mountain, not knowing the mountain's solitary steepness; like a stone holding jade, not knowing the jade's lack of blemish.' If one can be like this, this is true home-leaving. Those who have left home must experience and realize it in just this way.
