死活路岐非異道。虛而靈兮空而妙。趙州曾問賣油翁。
不許夜行投曉到。諸禪德。若向者裏會得。
先天地生而不為早。後天地生而不為老。
識取天台把帚人。寒巖有雪無人掃。

The branching road of death and life is not a different path; / empty and spiritual, vacant and marvelous.
Zhaozhou once asked the old man selling oil, / 'Traveling by night is not permitted; arrive at dawn.'
Noble Chan practitioners, if you understand right here, / being born before heaven and earth is not considered early, / and being born after heaven and earth is not considered late.
Recognize the man holding the broom on Mount Tiantai: / the cold cliff has snow, but no one sweeps it.
