長蘆駕浪。隻履西歸。求支那之法器。付屈眴之田衣。
度九年之緘默。印二祖之靈知。海犀酣月而暈。
寒烏帶雪而飛。機前自得兮頂目四照。
迷裏相逢兮鼻頭下垂。水著秋清兮湖光湛湛。
山銜落日兮雲錦輝輝。

Riding the waves on a single reed, / Returning to the West with a single sandal. / Seeking a vessel of Dharma in China, / He bestowed the patched cotton robe. / Spending nine years in sealed silence, / He sealed the second patriarch's numinous knowing. / The marine rhinoceros drunk on the moon develops markings; / The cold crow carrying snow takes flight. / Attained of itself before the spark: the eye atop the crown illuminates all four quarters; / Encountered amidst delusion: the nose hangs down low. / Water taking on autumn grows clear, the lake's radiance limpid; / Mountains holding the setting sun, cloud brocades glowing bright.
