8.123

一口吸盡西江水。馬師家風擢然起。老龐俯伏嗣芳塵。
古也今也誰如此。超然道與若人交。
南游浩意未相饒。風清骨秀眼寒碧。玉井氷壺凍不消。
羌床孤臥淨名室。無住無依脫虛溢。
淵然一默乃全提。不二門開肖當日。佛事圓來作歸想。
出門岐路平如掌。到家兒女獨圝頭。相對無言得真賞。

In one gulp, swallowing all the water of the West River, / Master Ma's family tradition soared forth distinctly. / Old Pang prostrated himself, inheriting the fragrant dust; / In antiquity and today, who has been like this? / Chaoran's Way communes with such a man; / His vast resolve in traveling south shows no relent. / With pure wind and refined bone, his eyes are cold and blue; / A jade well and ice pitcher whose freeze never melts. / Sitting solitary on the Qiang couch in the room of Vimalakīrti, / Unabiding and unattached, shedding vanity and excess. / Placidly profound, a single silence is the complete presentation; / The gate of non-duality opened wide, just like that very day. / When Buddha affairs are rounded off, thoughts turn to return; / Stepping out the door, the diverging paths are flat as one's palm. / Reaching home, with wife and children gathered round in harmony, / Facing each other in silence, finding true appreciation.
