8.23

證悟由來把抦長。重重脫處雪加霜。眾生相在猶流浪。
壽命根除自息狂。退骨龍能將雨去。
蛻鱗鯤復得風翔。郢人斲盡蠅泥也。方見元初鼻孔光。

Realization and awakening have always held the long handle; / In layer upon layer of shedding, snow is added on frost. / When the notion of living beings remains, one still drifts; / When the root of a lifespan is eradicated, madness ceases on its own. / Shedding its bones, the dragon can carry the rain away; / Molting its scales, the kun-fish again gains the wind to soar. / Once the man of Ying has chopped away all the fly-mud, / Only then is the radiance of the original nostrils seen.
