孤禪抖擻起僧氈。挂鉢寒藤著瘦肩。破夜無私看霽月。
開華不染出泥蓮。底心眾事水雲餓。
何處人家粥飯緣。寄語毘耶老居士。相投莫怪喚春眠。

Solitary Chan shakes off dust, rising from the monk's mat; / Hanging the bowl on a cold vine, resting on lean shoulders. / Breaking open the night without bias, behold the clear moon; / Blooming without taint, the lotus emerges from mud. / What mind attends to myriad affairs while water-and-clouds go hungry? / In what household lies the affinity for gruel and rice? / Send word to the old layman of Vaiśālī: / Do not blame an encounter for waking you from spring slumber.
