9.35

髮之白兮蒼山雪寒。眼之冷兮遠水秋還。機自轉兮夜斗有柄。
氣自清兮星河無瀾。谷應聲而亡像。
珠受色而不瘢。瀛海潮落兮平且淨。
天宇雲收兮虛更寬。萬化起滅兮默見其端。

The whiteness of his hair—the snow of green mountains is cold; / The cool detachment of his eyes—autumn returns to distant waters. / The dynamic mechanism turns on its own—the nocturnal Dipper has a handle; / The vital energy is clear of itself—the River of Stars has no waves. / The valley responds with sound, forgetting form; / The pearl receives color without a blemish. / The tide recedes in the ocean, flat and pure; / Clouds withdraw in the vault of heaven, empty and broader still. / The myriad transformations arise and cease, while silently he observes their source.
