9.57

幽討厥初。湛存若虛。體明無盡。氣清有餘。太行之雪厭屋。
黃河之氷載車。豹霧變文之虎。
龍雷燒尾之魚。風烟濡膩。草木光舒。根根塵塵了了。
法法念念如如。舂坊行者得衣鉢。可信心傳不在書。

Delving secretly into its beginning, / Placidly abiding as if empty. / The essence is luminous without end; / The vital energy is clear and abundant. / Snow on the Taihang Mountains burdens the roofs; / Ice on the Yellow River bears carts. / The tiger whose markings transform in the leopard's mist; / The fish that burns its tail in the dragon's thunder. / Wind and mist are moist and gentle; / Grass and trees stretch out in brilliance. / Every sense organ and every dust mote is completely clear; / Every phenomenon and every thought is just so. / The practitioner of the rice-pounding shed received the robe and bowl; / One can trust that the mind transmission does not depend on books.
