Forking roads divide and silk is dyed—so much endless chatter; / fruits tied and flowers linked disgrace the ancestral school. / Wondrously grasping the compass, the handle of transformation, / the implements of clouds and water lie in moulding and firing. / Screening off and cutting away complications, / shearing off the downy feathers. / Balances of stars and clear mirrors, / the jade ruler and golden shears. / Old Huangbo scrutinises down to the autumn hair; / sitting to cut off the spring breeze, he does not let it soar high.
