He cited: Dongshan was unwell. A monk asked, "The Venerable is ill, but is there someone who is not ill?" Dongshan said, "There is." The monk said, "Does the one who is not ill look after the Venerable?" Dongshan said, "This old monk has the share to look upon him." The monk said, "How is it when the Venerable looks upon him?" Dongshan said, "Then I do not see that there is illness." The Master appended a verse:
