Monks of both halls were locked in dispute;
Master Wang could test the upright and the perverse.
A sharp blade cuts through, both forms erased;
For a thousand ages he makes people admire an adept.
This Way has not perished;
Those who know the tune are worthy of praise.
Boring through mountains and penetrating the sea, Great Yu alone is revered;
Smelting stones to mend the heavens, Nüwa alone is esteemed.
Old Zhaozhou has his own livelihood;
Wearing straw sandals on his head is rather superior.
Coming from difference, the clear mirror still reflects;
Only this pure gold is unmixed with sand.
