Ascending the hall, [the Master] brought up: A monk asked Yunmen: "Does not giving rise to a single thought still have any fault?" Yunmen said: "Mount Sumeru."
The Master said: "Not giving rise to a single thought—he said 'Mount Sumeru.' A piece of meat on the tongue, two flaps of skin for lips. Yunmen's attainment of functioning was marvelous like this; he did not fall into right or wrong, knowing or not knowing."
