Ascending the hall, the Master said: "The mechanism prior to the kalpas, the seal behind the elbow—used without a trace, empty without exhaustion. Who created the great chiliocosm? It comes forth from the empty and luminous square inch. When you people wish to remove the patch of mud, Carpenter Shi does not begrudge swinging his axe." Then he called out in a loud voice, "Zen monks who understand how to take it upon yourselves, watch out for your nostrils!"
