派和尚遺書至。上堂。萬派朝宗一派收。揚清激濁幾經秋。忽然到底都乾却。露柱燈籠笑不休。且道。笑箇甚麼。下座同詣靈凡。羞法供養。

Ascending the hall upon the arrival of the posthumous letter of Master Pai: / "Ten thousand streams flow to the ancestral source, gathered into a single branch; / Clarifying the pure and churning the turbid, through how many autumns? / Suddenly, dried up completely to the very bottom, / The exposed pillar and stone lantern laugh without ceasing. / And tell me, what are they laughing at?" Stepping down from the seat: "Together let us proceed before the deceased spirit and offer the Dharma feast."
