謝知事上堂。打破黑漆桶。十方空豁豁。爆雷一喝變通。掣電千機頓發。便可以東行撑架門庭。西班怒罵佛祖。收放絕來由。縱橫透今古。正當恁麼且道。不立功勳一句。如何大家頭上添灰土。

Ascending the hall to thank the monastic officers: Breaking open the black lacquer bucket, the ten directions are vast and empty. An explosive thunderclap of a shout transforms and penetrates; lightning flashes as a thousand functions suddenly unleash. Then one can sustain the monastic household in the east rank, and furiously berate the Buddhas and Patriarchs in the west rank. Gathering and releasing without cause or trace; moving freely across past and present. Just at such a moment, tell me: what about the single phrase that does not establish merit? Why does everyone add ash and dirt over their heads?
