1.69

復舉。僧問趙州。如何是大道。州云。大道透長安。今則大家到者裡。大眾且道。理事相應。著得甚麼語。還委悉麼。四五千條花柳巷。二三萬座管絃樓。

He also cited: A monk asked Zhaozhou, 'What is the Great Way?' Zhaozhou said, 'The Great Way reaches Chang'an.' Now everyone has arrived here; assembly, tell me: when principle and phenomena correspond, what word should be applied? Do you still understand thoroughly? Four or five thousand lanes of flowers and willows; twenty to thirty thousand pavilions of pipes and strings.
