七尺烏藤掛東壁。春風忽來生兩翼。鞭起飛龍趁不得。
洞庭攪碎琉璃碧。去兮去兮明歷歷。
梅花影裡休相覓。為雨為雲自古今。古今寥寥有何極。

Seven feet of dark vine hangs on the eastern wall;
A sudden spring breeze makes two wings sprout.
Whipping up a flying dragon, it cannot be chased;
Lake Dongting is churned to pieces, emerald like lapis lazuli.
Departing, departing, vividly clear;
Cease seeking each other amid the shadows of plum blossoms.
Becoming rain, becoming clouds, from antiquity to the present;
From antiquity to the present, so vast and desolate—what limit is there?
