2.18

結夏上堂。結却衲僧布袋頭。天童拈來作氣毬。脚尖趯出佛無數。付與叢林作馬牛。

Ascending the hall for entering the summer retreat: / "Tying up the neck of the patch-robed monk's cloth bag, / Tiantong picks it up and makes a football of it. / With the tip of his toe he kicks out countless Buddhas, / Handing them over to the monastery to serve as horses and cattle!"
