Ascending the hall on the Lantern Festival: "The past Dīpaṃkara Buddha, dragging along, toyed with karmic consciousness. The present leaking lamp dish, its light and shadow deceive people's eyes. The future dry paper taper, the thief's stolen goods have nowhere to be pawned. Bah! Pierced through before the skull; seen inside the nostrils. Under the patch-robed monk's gate, it is pitch-black and vast; undivided through kalpas, a single thread passes through."
