牛頭沒（閃電相似。蹉過了也）馬頭回（如擊石火）曹溪鏡裏絕塵埃（打破鏡來。與爾相見。須是打破始得）
打鼓看來君不見（刺破爾眼睛。莫輕易好。漆桶有什麼難見處）
百花春至為誰開（法不相饒。一場狼籍。葛藤窟裏出頭來）

Ox head submerges, (Like a flash of lightning. Missed it already.) / horse head turns back; (Like spark struck from flint.) / In the mirror of Caoxi, dust and grime are utterly gone. (Smash the mirror, and I will meet with you. You must smash it before you can.)
Behold, the drum is struck, yet you do not see; (Piercing your eyes. Do not take it lightly. What is so difficult to see about a lacquer tub?)
For whom do the hundred flowers bloom when spring arrives? (The Dharma grants no mercy. A thorough mess. Emerging from inside the cave of entangling vines.)
