前箭猶輕後箭深（百發百中。向什麼處迴避）誰云黃葉是黃金（且作止啼。瞞得小兒。也無用處）
曹溪波浪如相似（弄泥團漢有什麼限。依樣畫猫兒。放行一路）
無限平人被陸沈（遇着活底人。帶累天下衲僧。摸索不着。帶累闍黎。出頭不得）

The first arrow was still light; the second arrow went deep.
(A hundred shots, a hundred hits; where can one evade it?)
Who says yellow leaves are yellow gold?
(Just taken to stop crying; it deceives little children, but is of no use.)
If the waves of Caoxi are like this,
(What limit is there to people playing with lumps of mud? Painting a cat according to a model; he lets one road go.)
Countless ordinary people will be drowned on dry land.
(Meeting a living person, he drags down the world's patch-robed monks so they cannot grope for it; he drags down the ācārya so he cannot raise his head.)
