【三八】舉。風穴在郢州衙內。上堂云（倚公說禪。道什麼）。祖師心印。狀似鐵牛之機（千人萬人撼不動。誵訛節角在什麼處。三要印開。不犯鋒鋩）去即印住（正令當行。錯）住即印破（再犯不容。看取令行時。拶。便打）只如不去不住（看無頓置處。多少誵訛）印即是不印即是（天下人頭出頭沒有分。文彩已彰。但請掀倒禪床喝散大眾）時有盧陂長老出問。某甲有鐵牛之機（釣得一箇諳曉得。不妨奇特）請師不搭印（好箇話頭。爭奈誵訛）穴云。慣釣鯨鯢澄巨浸。却嗟蛙步輾泥沙（似鶻捉鳩。寶網漫空。神駒千里）陂佇思（可惜許。也有出身處。可惜放過）穴喝云。長老何不進語（攙旗奪皷。炒閙來也）陂擬議（三回死了。兩重公案）穴打一拂子（好打。這箇令須是恁麼。人行始得）穴云。還記得話頭麼。試舉看（何必。雪上加霜）陂擬開口（一死更不再活。這漢鈍置殺人。遭他毒手）穴又打一拂子。牧主云。佛法與王法一般（灼然。却被傍人覷破）穴云。見箇什麼道理（也好與一拶。却回鎗頭來也）牧主云。當斷不斷返招其亂（似則似是則未是。須知傍人有眼。東家人死。西家人助哀）穴便下座（將錯就錯。見機而變。且得參學事畢）。

But what about when it neither moves away nor remains? (Look, there is nowhere to put it. How much intricacy!) Is it right to seal, or is it right not to seal?"
