6.18

虎頭虎尾一時收（殺人刀活人劍。須是這僧始得。千兵易得一將難求）凜凜威風四百州（坐斷天下人舌頭。蓋天蓋地）
却問不知何太嶮（不可盲枷瞎棒。雪竇元來未知在。闍黎相次著也）
師云。放過一著（若不放過又作麼生。盡天下人一時落節。擊禪床一下）

"The tiger's head and the tiger's tail are gathered up at once: (The sword that kills people, the sword that brings people to life. It took this monk to achieve this. A thousand soldiers are easy to find, but one general is hard to seek.)
his imposing authority chills the four hundred prefectures! (Sitting and cutting off the tongues of everyone under heaven. Covering heaven and covering earth.)
Yet asking, he did not know it was so perilous— (You cannot wield a blind flail and a sightless staff. Xuedou originally did not know it yet. The Ācārya will soon get it.)
the Master said, 'Letting him off by one move.'" (If not letting him off, what then? Everyone under heaven all at once loses their footing! He struck the meditation bench once.)
