垂示云。無啗啄處。祖師心印。狀似鐵牛之機。透荊棘林。衲僧家。如紅爐上一點雪。平地上七穿八穴則且止。不落寅緣。又作麼生。試舉看。

The Pointer says: Having nowhere to bite or peck into, the ancestral master's mind-seal is like the dynamic function of the iron ox. Penetrating the bramble forest, a patch-robed monk's household is like a flake of snow on a red-hot furnace. Boring seven piercings and eight holes on level ground may be set aside for now; not falling into entangling conditions, what then? Try to bring it up and see.
