【八六】舉。雲門垂語云。人人盡有光明在（黑漆桶）看時不見暗昏昏（看時瞎）作麼生是諸人光明（山是山水是水。漆桶裏洗黑汁）自代云。厨庫三門（老婆心切。打葛藤作什麼）又云。好事不如無（自知較一半。猶較些子）。

[Case 86] Bringing forward: Yunmen addressed the assembly, saying: 'Everyone without exception possesses radiance; (A black lacquer tub.) / When looking, they do not see it, and it is pitch dark. (When looking, they are blind.) / What is everyone's radiance?' (Mountains are mountains, waters are waters. Washing black ink in a lacquer tub.) / Speaking on their behalf, he said: 'The storeroom, the triple gate.' (Grandmotherly heart is eager. Why get entangled in vines?) / He also said: 'A good thing is not as good as nothing.' (He himself knows it is half a step better. Still somewhat better.)
