壯士稜稜鬢未秋（恨天不到）男兒不憤不封侯（貪程太速）
翻思清白傳家客（已太多生）洗耳溪頭不飲牛（末後太過）

A valiant man, proud and stern, his temples not yet gray, / (Resenting that the sky is out of reach.)
A real man, if not driven, will not become a marquis. / (Rushing along the journey too fast.)
Turning his thoughts back, he considers the guest who transmits purity as his family heritage, / (Already too much has happened in his life.)
Washing his ears at the brook's edge, refusing to let his ox drink. / (At the very end, overly excessive.)
