爭解恁麼道（暗裏抽橫骨）五更鷄唱家林曉（金烏東上）爭肯恁麼道（明中坐舌頭）
千年鶴與雲松老（玉兔西沈）寶鑑澄明驗正偏（事窮的要）
玉機轉側看兼到（交互明中暗）門風大振兮規步綿綿（西天令嚴）
父子變通兮聲光浩浩（見過於師方堪傳授）

"How could he understand how to speak like that? (Pulling out the collarbone in the dark.) / At the fifth watch, the cock crows; the home forest dawns. (The golden crow rises in the east.) / How could he be willing to speak like that? (Sitting on the tongue in the light.) / The thousand-year crane grows old with the clouded pines. (The jade rabbit sinks in the west.) / The precious mirror, limpid and bright, tests the partial and absolute; (The crucial point when matters are exhausted.) / The jade loom pivots, observing their simultaneous arrival. (Interchanging light and darkness.) / The sectarian style is greatly roused—rules and steps continuous; (The command of the Western Heavens is strict.) / Father and son transform and penetrate—voice and light resound and shine." (Only seeing beyond the teacher makes one worthy of transmission.)
