示眾云。末後一句。始到牢關。巖頭自負。上不肯於親師。下不讓於法弟。為復是強生節目。為復別有機關。

Instructing the assembly, [the Master] said: "Only the final word reaches the secure barrier. Yantou took pride in himself: above, he did not defer to his close master; below, he did not yield to his Dharma younger brother. Was this forcing out complications, or was there another mechanism?"
