舉。法眼問覺上座。舡來陸來（大似有兩般）覺云。舡來（深談實相善說法要）眼云。舡在甚麼處（恐怕不實）覺云。舡在河裏（果然有下落）覺退後。眼却問傍僧云。爾道適來這僧。具眼不具眼（可惜許）。

Case:
Fayan asked Senior Monk Jue, "Did you come by boat or come by land?" (Much like there being two kinds.)
Jue said, "Came by boat." (Deeply discourses on the true mark, skillfully expounds the essential Dharma.)
Fayan said, "Where is the boat?" (Fearing it is not real.)
Jue said, "The boat is in the river." (Sure enough, there is a place it settles.)
After Jue withdrew, Fayan then asked a bystander monk, "Tell me, did that monk just now possess eyes or not possess eyes?" (What a pity!)
