水不洗水（絕點澄清）金不博金（鍊做一塊）昧毛色而得馬（不得相取）
靡絲絃而樂琴（非可聲求）結繩畫卦有許事（法出姦生）
喪盡真淳盤古心（弄巧成拙）

"Water does not wash water—(Utterly spotless and clear.)
Gold is not traded for gold.(Refined into a single mass.)
Overlooking coat and color, he obtained the horse;(One cannot take it by appearances.)
Without silk strings, he took joy in the zither.(It cannot be sought through sound.)
Knotted cords and drawn hexagrams—so many contrivances!(When laws appear, knavery arises.)
Have utterly destroyed the pure simplicity of Pangu's mind."(Attempting to be clever, he made a blunder.)
