岐分絲染太勞勞（知事少時煩惱少）葉綴花聯敗祖曹（識人多處是非多）
妙握司南造化柄（一朝權在手）水雲器具在甄陶（看取令行時）
屏割繁碎（大象不遊兔徑）剪除氄毛（大悟不拘小節）
星衡藻鑑（纖毫不昧）玉尺金刀（度量深明）黃蘗老察秋毫（謾他一星不得）
坐斷春風不放高（預備不虞）

Diverging paths and dyed silk are too wearisome; / (When you know few affairs, troubles are few.) / Joining leaves and linking flowers ruins the patriarchal line. / (Where you know many people, right and wrong abound.) / Wonderfully grasping the south-pointing chariot, the handle of creation, / (Once authority is in hand,) / The cloud and water vessels are all in the firing and molding. / (Look at how the decree is carried out!) / Clearing away the cumbersome, / (The great elephant does not stroll along a rabbit track.) / Trimming away the downy feathers; / (Great enlightenment is not constrained by petty trifles.) / Star scales and ornate mirror, / (Not a hair's breadth is obscured.) / Jade ruler and golden knife. / (Measurements and standards are profoundly clear.) / Old Huangbo examines the autumn down; / (You cannot deceive him by a single particle.) / He sits through the spring wind, not letting it rise high. / (Preparing for the unforeseen.)
