滄海瀝乾（依前白浪滔天）太虛充滿（不見毫釐絲忽）衲僧鼻孔長（千里寒梅度暗香）
古佛舌頭短（一字真言道不滿）珠絲度九曲（枉勞心力）
玉機纔一轉（文彩縱橫意自殊）直下相逢誰識渠（是甚麼面孔）
始信。斯人不合伴（貶入孤獨地獄）

The vast sea drained dry, (As before, white waves swell to heaven.) / Great space filled to the brim. (Not a millimeter or silk thread is seen.) / The monk's nostrils are long; (Cold plum blossoms from a thousand miles away convey a faint fragrance.) / The ancient Buddha's tongue is short. (A one-word true mantra cannot be fully spoken.) / A thread through the nine-curved pearl, (Wasted effort of mind and strength.) / The jade loom just turns once. (The patterned brocade crisscrosses; its meaning is uniquely extraordinary.) / Meeting straight on, who recognizes him? (What kind of face is this?) / One first believes: this person does not join company. (Banish him into the lonely hell.)
