6.64

舉。魯祖問南泉。摩尼珠人不識。如來藏裏親收得（少賣弄）如何是藏（法堂前佛殿後）泉云。王老師與汝往來者是（有甚死急）祖云。不往來者（道頭知尾告往知來）泉云。亦是藏（一遍生活兩遍作）祖云。如何是珠（得一望二）泉召云。師祖（老僧不是不拈出）祖應諾（闍梨不是不將來）泉云。去。汝不會我語（平生肝膽向人傾）。

Case: Luzu asked Nanquan, '"The maṇi jewel people do not recognize; in the tathāgatagarbha it is personally retrieved." (Little need to show it off.) What is the treasury?' (In front of the Dharma Hall, behind the Buddha Shrine.) / Nanquan said, 'That which comes and goes with you, Teacher Wang, is it.' (What is the deadly rush?) / Zu said, 'What about that which does not come and go?' (Hearing the beginning, he knows the end; telling him where he went, he knows what is to come.) / Nanquan said, 'That too is the treasury.' (Doing one job of work twice.) / Zu said, 'What is the jewel?' (Gaining one, he hopes for two.) / Nanquan called out, 'Shizu!' (It is not that this old monk does not bring it out.) / Zu answered, 'Yes?' (It is not that the ācārya does not bring it forth.) / Nanquan said, 'Go! You do not understand my words.' (Throughout his life pouring out his heart to others.)
