無門曰。一人向深深海底。行簸土揚塵。一人於高高山頂。立白浪滔天。把定放行各出一隻手。扶竪宗乘。大似兩箇駞子相撞著。世上應無直底人。正眼觀來。二大老總未識路頭在。

Wumen said, "One person walks at the bottom of the deep sea, winnowing dirt and kicking up dust; the other stands on the towering mountain summit, stirring up white waves that surge to heaven. Holding fast and letting go, each extends a single hand to uphold the ancestral vehicle. They greatly resemble two hunchbacks bumping into each other: in this world, there is surely no straight person. Viewed with the true eye, neither of these two great elders has recognized the road's trailhead yet."
