凡有學人偏僻言句。或蓋覆將來。辨師家眼目。或呈知見。擎頭戴角。一一試之。盡皆打得。只為當面識破。或貶或褒。明鏡臨臺。是何精魅之可現。何有妖狐能隱本形者也。

Whenever a student brings forward biased and one-sided phrases, or conceals [their state] to test the teacher's eye, or presents their intellectual views, raising their heads and displaying their horns, test each and every one of them—every one of them can be struck. It is simply because one sees through them face to face; whether blaming or praising, when the clear mirror is placed upon the stand, what goblin can appear, what bewitching fox can conceal its original form?
